![]() | In our classroom we will be using a colored clip chart to monitor behavior throughout the day. The clip chart is designed to promote positive behavior choices as well as encouraging students to self-monitor their behavior. Each student will have a clothespin (clip) with his or her name on it. At the beginning of each day, everyone will begin with their clip on GREEN. Throughout the day, the student's will have the opportunity to move their clip up or down the clip chart depending on their behavior. Each positive behavior choice will result in the student moving his or her clip up one level. Also, each inappropriate behavior choice will result in the student moving his or her clip down one level. Color Explanations
Behavior Tracking At the end of each day, the students will color their behavior in their H.E.R.O. folder. If their behavior lands on yellow, red, or orange by the end of the day, a number code will be used to keep parent's informed as to the student's behavior for the day. The number codes are as followed: 1. I was talking out of turn. 6. I hurt a friend on the inside. 2. I was out of my seat. 7. I hurt a friend on the outside. 3. I wasn't following directions. 8. I misbehaved in the hallway. 4. I wasn't doing my work. 9. I misbehaved during lunch. 5. I was disrespectful. 10. I misbehaved during specials. Students who show positive behavior will be rewarded! When a student lands on a pink by the end of the day, a special jewel will be added to his or her clip. Once 5 jewels are added to a clip, the student will be allowed to choose from the special behavior catalog! As the school year continues, the number of jewels required will grow. |
